IDA BERGFOTH
When I was 14 years old and very active with different sports, I was helping my neighbour move some big tyres and it dawned on me that was what I wanted to do. Lift heavy things.
I found some more things to play around with and a year later I was old enough to be a member of my small town gym - and there it began. But it wasn’t until I moved to a bigger city and found friends with a similar passion for weight lifting that it really kicked off.
At the age of 19 I mastered a life of a lot of work, partying and socializing with deepening my interest for fitness. I started coaching athletes of all kinds of sports at my new home gym, because I enjoyed it. But it was not until the age of 21 that I really understood that it was my mission in life.
At the age of 24 I stepped up on the stage to do my first ever Fitness Competition, 10 years after lifting that heavy truck tyre. I had my family and friends present and I will never ever forget the feeling of victory, the feeling of being home, when I stepped off that stage again and hugged my near ones (and I didn't even win, I got second place), but for me that means only one thing; This sport/lifestyle might be an individual one but it cannot be fully enjoyed or useful without a great support system.
So that is when it really took off for me, that was the moment I knew that I would do my absolute best to be able to give to others what I felt that day. Support.
Being on a healthy lifestyle journey isn’t easy until it actually is just exactly that. But until we reach that point we need guidance and support, and that is why I am here - for you.
We are all new at something at some point.
